About The Role

Morrison Utility Services are carrying out a major programme of gas main replacement and associated works across Wales and the South West of England as part of the Western Gas Alliance. This involves the feasibility, design, programme management and delivery of 2000km of mains replacement (420km per year) and 40,000 customer gas connections.

Our Records Department is looking to appoint a Measurement Engineer to support the Business Services team in delivering the Replacement Programme within Wales and West Utilities. 

You will join the team who pro-actively contribute and drive for performance improvements, validate data in accordance with set procedures and report specific information.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • You will create as-laid and decommissioned drawings with accurate detailed measurements, compiling information using computer systems and mobile applications in accordance with relevant procedures and guidelines, in order to provide detailed information on gas mains and services
  • You will be responsible for capturing and recoding replacement work in an accurate and timely manner, contributing to the efficient completion of our operational activities
  • You will be expected to liaise with WGA and WWU operational staff and teams and provide outstanding services to internal and external customers.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • We are looking for someone with the ability to demonstrate our core behaviours of teamwork, customer service, pride and energy
  • We want you to work within and promote the philosophy of safe team working and development across all WGA and WWU activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance
  • Operational or technical experience is desirable along with some project management experience and working with others to achieve targets
  • It is essential that you have concern for order, quality and delivery to strict deadlines
  • We need you to be numerate with good written and verbal communication skills
  • You'll have excellent organisational and administration skills
  • We would like you to have a high standard of keyboard skills and a working knowledge of standard Microsoft applications
  • A valid driving license is essential

Additional Information

We have two roles to fill. One role will be based around Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bristol. The other role will be based around Exeter, Plymouth and Cornwall.
