Caledonia Water Alliance is currently looking to recruit a Water Operations Technician to work on our Scottish Water contract across Scotland.
As a Water Operations Technician you will be part of our Operations Team who are responsible for rehabilitation of clean water mains throughout Scotland.
Caledonia Water Alliance is a partnership between AECOM and Morrison Water Services which will support the delivery of the SR21 Scottish Water Capital Investment Programme, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland programme.
As a Water Operations Technician your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Pre-rehabilitation assessment – surveying/locating all valves and network apparatus (incl hydrants, stopcocks, air valves and fire hydrants), for accessibility and operation, and also trace all services
- Attend Operations/Communications meetings prior to work
- Work with Site Manager on programme of work
- Liaise with Scottish Water Operational staff on all work and DOMs procedures
- Carry out valve operations
- Chlorinate and sample water main after works
- Deliver water samples to Scottish Water Laboratories
- Assess work area and impact on customers and visit proactively to discuss work
- Deal with and resolve any customer issue arising from the construction work
- Complete all required paperwork on a daily/weekly basis for submission to office
- Hand delivery of customer notifications
- Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland

Desirable Requirements:
- DOM’s 1-12/National Water Hygiene/DOM’s 13 certificates – training can be given
Additional Information:
- You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
- You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
- You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
- Travel throughout Scotland will be required to work on operational sites.
