About The Role

Innovation & Product Development Manager

Salary - £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
Car or car allowance
Location - Hybrid working 3 in office 2 WFH in one of our offices (Newcastle, Nottingham, Solihull), including national travel to meet with customers and contract teams 

A bit about the role...

The energy market is experiencing unprecedented levels of change, driven by technological advances, national net zero commitments and the rapid evolution in consumers’ expectations. 

M Group Services Energy Division has deep expertise, long-standing customer relationships and the broadest range of services to support network operators and energy suppliers in the UK.  We are ideally positioned to capitalise on these levels of innovation and change.

We are looking for a candidate with the energy, appetite and persuasive skills to ensure that our services evolve to meet market challenges and our client expectations.  You’ll be a professional and resilient individual with the experience necessary to get going quickly and feel comfortable working in a company that is growing to meet the rapid changes in the energy market.

Reporting to the Innovation Director, you will play a key role in driving innovation and deliver proven new products and services that broaden and extend the markets available to MGS Energy Division.  This will include the identification of opportunities to develop new products, the initiation of pilots to prove the concept, and their subsequent successful delivery and conversion into new sustainable revenue streams.  

All of this will require close constructive working with customers, MGS operational and account management teams, and sales and business development leads.

Key Responsibilities…

  • Maintain an overview of relevant markets, identifying changes in the market and competitor activity, new technologies and new market needs
  • Identify current market opportunities to sell new products and deliver in year revenue growth
  • Identify future product development activity that will drive sales in next 3 years; create the investment business case and go to market plan
  • Produce a Development Road Map identifying key products for future years sales
  • Evaluate current products and develop where necessary
  • Develop new products specific to relevant MGS markets
  • Work with cross departmental representatives to define, mobilise and contract new services and products
  • Grow Pipeline and network across MGS relevant markets to identify current and future opportunities

  • Able to travel nationally when required to meet with operational teams, clients and partners
