About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Scaffold Inspector / Temporary Works Supervisor to work on our Cadent CMO contract in North London, working as part of our Technical Services Team.

Job Purpose:

  • Providing advice, assistance and guidance to operations with regards to the management of safety, health, environmental and quality issues.
  • Monitoring compliance with CMO SHEQ policies and procedures and Scaffold and Temporary Works guidance.
  • Gain an understanding of the requirements of the of safety, health, environmental, quality and wellbeing policies (SHEQW).
  • Compliance with BS:5975 guidance and Working at Height Regulations

As the Scaffold Inspector / Temporary Works Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

  •  Completed statutory periodic inspection of temporary works structure (scaffolding) and as required (electronic   recorded)
  •  Review pre-existing site conditions confirming suitability of site for Scaffold/MEWP/Mast climber erection   (electronic recorded)
  • Update Temporary Works Schedule with proceeding works (keeping log of works)
  • Assist and advise the operational and management team to further develop the management systems and operational practices
  • Supporting the management of Scaffolding teams in their line management responsibility for safety, health, environmental and quality
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. risk assessments, risk management, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational health, etc
  • Providing support implementing safety, health, environmental and quality management systems
  • Liaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the TWE
  • Support WAH incident management & investigation process, ensuring that the investigations produced by line management are of sufficient quality and completed within prescribed timescales
  • Working towards Producing toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHEQ training materials about health and safety issues and risks
  •  Attend, support and represent SHEQ at operational meetings
  • Monitor WAH contractors via site inspection and management audit
  • Coordinate & Support behavioural safety initiatives
  • Deliver on internal audit process requirements
  • Support with the cascading of relevant SHE information
  • Keep and provide records of incidents and accidents and produce appropriate SHEQ statistics
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry
  • Producing inspection reports on work/projects/activities carried out
  • Act as a role model at all times in support of the CMO visions, priorities and values

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

General Experience:

  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example, promoting safety culture
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams
  • Capable of delivering confident articulate presentations
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Must hold a current UK Driving License

Qualifications (Essential):

  • CISRS Advanced Inspection/Scaffolder (Gold Card)
  • Utility SHEA Gas Passport

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • Internal Audit e.g. BSI or Lloyds Lead Auditor Qualification – IRCA Registered
  • Accident investigation
  • NRSWA for Supervisors
  • PASMA erection/Inspection
  • Excavation experience – long term plan would be to utilise the role with Deep Excavations and issuing Permit to Load
  • MEWPs for Managers (IPAF)
  • Mast climber Experience (IPAF)
