Morrison Energy Services are currently looking to recruit a number of Operatives/ Groundworkers to carry out various mechanical and civil activities across our contracts, working on AGI’s, Governors and complex projects ranging in size from small to large.
As an Operative/ Groundworker you will play an important part in our Site Delivery Team, who are responsible for the construction, maintenance and refurbishment of customers assets to help them achieve their targets and supply gas to both domestic and commercial clients.
Morrison Energy Services is proud to be a key delivery partner for NGN, delivering projects ranging from £50,000- 3 million pounds. As an Operative/ Groundworker your duties and responsibilities will be a large range of practical tasks ranging from digging trenches, placing and compacting bedding material, laying pipes, ducts and cables. Backfilling and compacting trenches, mix and lay concrete, operate machinery, use equipment such as drills and pumps, fitting doors and roofs on kiosk, painting blasting and coating.
The work may also include fencing work, CP works, construction of foundations and assisting skilled workers for example Steel fixers and Carpenters. Working under the instruction and supervision of a Site Manager. The work may involve the driving of plant construction site vehicles as well as acting as a Banksman. Keeping the site tidy and looking after tools and equipment. Aiding the site team which may include a number of varied tasks. At all times to be working in a safe manner with consideration towards fellow workers and members of the public who may come into contact with our work.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience and a sound understanding of utility/ground works is an advantage but not necessary as training will be given.
- Have a good understanding of Health & Safety. Ability to understand instructions and carry them out reliably and efficiently.
- Confident working on your own and as a proactive team player who enjoys working under pressure.
- EUSR, CSCS or CPCS qualifications advantage but not essential.
- NRSWA Qualification preferable
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel.
Additional Information
You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools. You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground. You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
The work is often physically demanding so good physical fitness, strength and stamina is required.
