About The Role

Plant & Fleet Solutions support our frontline operations by providing compliant, innovative and fit-for-purpose Vehicles, Plant and Equipment, whilst reviewing new market developments and products that help meet our Safety, Sustainability and Operational Efficiency Objectives.

We currently provide a comprehensive fleet of over 5,500 trucks, vans and cars, together with over 15,000 items of general plant and specialist utilities equipment from our Regional Supply Centres.

A new opportunity has arisen within the Plant Solutions area for a Transport & Logistics Controller. The Plant Solutions team are responsible for the hire of plant related equipment to all M Group Businesses. We are looking for somebody who will be able to transform our current service and improve the operational efficiency and cost recovery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and plan all plant & tool equipment deliveries and collections to and from our Castleford Depot
  • Liaise with the Compliance Service Department
  • Co-ordinating equipment exchanges.
  • Responsible for managing driving hours
  • Responsible for the delivery driver’s routes planning the most efficient and quickest routes for our drivers using various vehicle tracking systems.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • It is essential that you have a background in logistics with experience of managing and coordinating logistics movements and knowledge of drivers’ hour’s regulations.
  • Ideally, you will have attended an Operator Licence Awareness Course.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well organised and capable of multi-tasking to achieve objectives in a timely manner.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel with a good level of experience working on IT software systems; open minded and quick to learn new systems.
