About The Role

Morrison UtilityServices are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work onour multi- utility contract in North Acton, London.

As the QuantitySurveyor you will be part of our pro-active Team who areresponsible for planning, design, coordination and construction ofmulti-utility diversions.

Our works isperformed on behalf of Tier 1 Joint Venture organisations across theprestigious HS2 project from London to Birmingham. 

As the QuantitySurveyor your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Work closely with the Project Delivery Teams to enforce and maintain the business drivers and outputs for his/her projects;
  • Maximise profitability having regard to client and subcontractor relations, third party incomers and the companies strategic objectives with regard to client relations and the risk / reward philosophy;
  • Proactively drive the recovery of outstanding monies;
  • Maintain the Risk Management System for all his/her projects;
  • Maintain a record of the Commercial KPI data at Project Level and proactively advise the Project team on any potential negative effect for his/her projects
  • Maintain the Commercial Records in line with the requirements of the contract for all his/her projects;
  • Prepare and maintain the prompt accurate measurement and submission of valuations and final accounts;
  • Maintain the administration of the contract and ensure it is carried out in a correct and timely manner for his/her projects.
  • Request and chair Risk Reduction Meetings
  • NEC Contract Administration including issuing EWN’s, NCE’s, CEQ’s etc.
  • Maintain a record of complaints and compliments are maintained for all of their projects and notify the MQS where any such complaint might lead to a claim for compensation.
  • Assist in the Estimating process, where specifically required.
  • Prepare documentation associated with the Cost Value Reports and Margin Analysis for all his/her projects on a monthly  basis for review and summary by the MQS;
  • Prepare and update documentation associated with the Project Out Turn Forecasts accurately on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare and update the documentation (and calculations) to enable successful Change Control at Project level;
  • Prepare documentation and calculations to enable accurate Reserves Schedule at a Project Level and update regularly
  • Maintain a Disallowed Costs Register for all Projects and ensure correct coding within the ledger;
  • Maintain a record of LADs and Regulatory Outputs for all his/her projects and ensure feedback to the Project Delivery Team and minimise the impact where appropriate.
  • Provide commercial input to the Project Manager for his/her Monthly PM Reports
  • Provide Commercial input regarding current and forecasted VOWD and cashflow into the MUS submission of the client`s Monthly Reporting Requirement.
  • Prepare documentation, including detailed calculations in preparation for all Forecasting. Ensure the details are aligned to the Project Managers` Reports and the Project Primevera Programme;
  • Prepare documentation, including ledger records for all Final Accounts Submissions for MQS review and submit in a timely manner, following MQS approval;
  • Maintain all subcontractor`s documentation in line with the BMS and the Client`s governance and ensure that these are updated at all times.
  • Communicate MUS’s requirements on quality, safety and environmental matters to subcontractors;
  • Maintain Subcontractors Performance Reporting on his/her Project basis and regularly review and update;
  • Prepare documentation to enable the placing of Subcontract Orders in accordance with the Delegated Authorities;
  • Maintain the documentation associated with Monthly Performance Reviews of all the subcontractors for his/her projects;
  • Prepare the documentation for Subcontractor Payments in accordance with the Assessment Schedules of the Subcontract terms;
  • Maintain Subcontract liabilities Schedules for all his/her projects
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the Client and all the Internal Departments and ensure the Commercial staff deliver customer satisfaction;
