About The Role

Morrison Utility Services are currently looking to recruit a Vacuum Excavator Driver/Operator to work on our tRIIO contract in Leicester. 

As a Vacuum Excavator Driver you will be part of our Operations team who are responsible for delivering the Gas Mains Replacement programme across the East Midlands area. 

tRIIO specialise in delivering design and contracting services for the UK’s gas distribution network.  We work in partnership with Cadent to improve the supply of gas to millions of people.

As the Vac Ex Driver your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Operate the vacuum excavator in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure weight of vehicle is checked no less than bi-monthly.
  • Report and/or record all accidents, incidents, environmental events (aspects and impacts), damages, near misses and illnesses.
  • Comply with the Health, Safety, Engineering & Environmental requirements relevant to your duties and responsibilities, and co-operate with site inspections and investigations.
  • Be proactive with signing and guarding when on site, never leave gaps in barriers and report any defects to the Team Leader or First Line Manager.

Essential Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • A good working knowledge of operational gas sites.
  • Minimum requirement Category C driving licence, preferable Category CE
  • Preferable NPORS Vacuum Excavator
  • Class 2 HGV license
  • You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
  • You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
