About The Role

Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit an Operations Planner to work on our Welsh Water contract based in Nelson.

As an Operations Planner you will be reporting to the planning supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring all task teams have sufficient levels of work planes and issued in a timely manner. The Planner will ensure schedules are planned to maximise the resources available and productivity taking into consideration the target date, skill level and guaranteed standards of service implications. You will manage an element of the customer service journey and manager an element of streetworks activities.

Welsh Water is the sixth largest of the ten regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales who are responsible for providing over three million people with a continuous, high quality supply of drinking water and for taking away, treating and properly disposing of the wastewater that is produced.  

As the Operations Planner your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Support the planning supervisor in making an active contribution to the promotion of the Planning Departments performance against the Contractual KPI’s.
  • To ensure that all task teams have sufficient levels of works planned and issued within a timely manner.
  • To plan work on the agreed business work management system.
  • To plan to target date, geographical locations and skill levels of task teams.
  • To support the client in delivering excellent customer service for C-Mex and D-Mex outputs.
  • Distribute work packages to an agreed point in a timely manner.
  • To consult with your Team Leader when developing planning strategies.
  • Participate fully as a partner of the team
  • To work jointly with planning departments and Supervisors alike.
  • Deal with customer enquiries and complaints in a positive and helpful manner.
  • Organise workloads to comply with Streetworks legislation.
  • Arrange for non-standard fittings to be available for works planned.
  • Ensure Streetworks legislation is adhered too to avoid financial penalties.
