More exciting opportunities has arisen at Morrison Telecom Services, and we are now looking for a Team Manager with Copper installation experience based in London.

MGroup Services Telecom Division operates in the fixed line telecommunications market offering a full life cycle of survey, design, build and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure. We continue to support Openreach with their implementation of a full fibre network through large scale roll outs of network build and maintenance activities.

You'll be working in a part of Morrison Telecom Services and Avonline Network that is dedicated to transforming the way support is delivered nationwide to network providers. We aim to be the UK's leading network installation business, harnessing and enhancing the skills of our people to deliver high-quality cost-effective services.

As the Team Manager you will be responsible coordinating the performance and development of your team whilst ensuring a ‘First Class Service’ delivery is maintained. They will also ensure that a quality service is always delivered and assist in raising the profile of the business. The department also provide day-to-day support to Project Managers, Site Agents including Development and Training where necessary.

You will be expected to perform technical tasks, such as troubleshooting technical issues, and perform administrative tasks which includes managing team performance as you will be the key focal point for your team by providing them assistance and advice.

 The role & responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all of our engineers are fully utilised at all times.
  • Reviewing non-compliance issues with engineers as required.
  • Completing regular post-completion audits of work.
  • Assisting with customer complaints and investigations.
  • Assisting with daily jeopardy management of the work stack as required.
  • Providing site cover for engineer absences and ad-hoc jobs to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Providing cover for the Service Delivery Managers in terms of annual leave and sickness cover.
  • Ensuring that all engineers are fully trained and accredited for the tasks at hand, delivering onsite training and coaching where necessary.
  • Ensuring our engineers are wearing the correct PPE (in good condition) including safety boots and hi-viz.
  • Completing tooling checks for every engineer, ensuring all kit, tools, guards and ladders are checked and signed off every 4-6 months and that they are safe to use.

What we need from you:

  • Expert knowledge of the Openreach Network is essential alongside Copper Installation.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail.
  • High performance and results orientated.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Ability to build rapport with the field team quickly.
  • Strong computer/tablet skills.
  • Ability to liaise with senior management, to present continual issues and provide solutions.
