About The Role

We are looking to offer a Vehicle Damage Assessor the opportunity to join our expanding Fleet Solutions team based in Stevenage or Castleford.

About the team

The Fleet Solutions team is responsible for more than 9000 vehicles, made up of car, light commercial vehicle, and heavy goods vehicle.  The Commercial team is responsible for dealing with all insurance enquiries and claims in respect of plant and vehicles and has a dedicated mail inbox for the business.

About the role

You will be responsible for reviewing and challenging damage repair costs and estimates from our supply chain.

If you are qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or ATA qualified with a solid Bodyshop background as a VDA or Vehicle Damage Estimator or Assessor then we would be keen to hear from you!

This role also requires somebody to have a full UK driving licence.

As the Vehicle Damage Assessor, you’ll get the opportunity to:

  • Review and challenge damage estimates from our supply chain, ensure that the costs are in accordance with industry standards and all costs presented are justifiable.
  • Negotiate with the supply chain to reduce down costs into the business
  • Review and signoff of body shop repair estimates.
  • Review lease company damage charges
  • Update internal system in respect of VOR from a variety of sources including external accident management company, dealerships et al.
  • Monitor and escalate on delayed repairs.
  • Liaise with other departments for efficient completion of repairs where required.
  • Agree and process vehicles which have been deemed to be total losses.
  • Provide agreed reports.
  • Identifying where telematics information is available in respect of Road Traffic Incidents and obtaining this for the use of insurers.

  • Customer Service: delivering excellent customer service by delivering what is promised, helping internal customers with whatever enquiry / problem that needs to be solved in a timely, effective manner.
  • Dedication and Determination; to follow through tasks so they are completed on time and correctly; putting in the required effort to deal with sometimes high workloads.
  • Organisation & Multi-tasking; this is a multi-faceted role with a number of work streams all running concurrently at all times; excellent organisational skills and multi-tasking are a key skill.
  • Microsoft Office and Software system: strong skill level with Outlook and Excel; Advantage of working with Fleet software systems would be advantageous; open minded and quick to learn new systems.
  • Quality Control: attention to detail and ensuring information provided is 100% correct is an essential attribute.
